Children & Youth

Children are a much loved and celebrated part of our church life. Fisherwick currently has a vibrant children’s ministry, from Sunday School and crèche to Boys' Brigade and Girls' Brigade.

Sunday services are inclusive, reflecting that children are a vital part of the church family. We currently have 'Baby Fishes', a small crèche set-up with new arrivals on the way. We also have ‘Little Fishes’ where 2-4 year olds can meet together for lots of fun. Kingfishers is our Sunday School programme for children in primary school. During the week our Babies and Toddlers group is an outreach to many local families, building relationships and connections.

Long established BB & GB companies are a key part of our outreach to children and young people. Many families who don’t belong to a church seek to find a connection here.

Other significant events in the life of our church are, Holiday Bible Club which reaches around 60 local children, family services throughout the year which play a significant role in involving children in worship, outings for our children to enjoy fun and fellowship together, connection with local primary schools through assemblies.

There is a dedicated team of volunteers who care for and teach the kids of the love God and how he can change their lives and the joy of being part of his church.

Youth Ministry at Fisherwick

Our programme for young people is called Disciples. Disciples is a bible based programme for years 8-10 that provides relevant and engaging activities for young people seeking to grow and develop their heart for and confidence in Christ. It provides a space for young people to come together, learn more about God and share fellowship with one another.

Girls Brigade

The Girls’ Brigade Company in Fisherwick meets on Thursday evenings from September to April in the church halls. We have occasional outings, trips and weekends away. We also have an annual Family & Friends BBQ and Display at the end of our year. We are a group of 12 leaders and 50 girls, aged 3-18, divided into age groups. The Explorers (3-8 years) and Juniors (P5-P7) meet from 6.30-7.30m. The Seniors (Years 8-10) and Brigaders (Year 11+) meet from 7.30-9.00pm.

The Girls’ Brigade (GB) is a Christian uniformed organisation for girls. It is international and interdenominational. The GB Motto is ‘Seek, Serve and Follow Christ’ and the Aim is ‘To help girls become followers of The Lord Jesus Christ.’ Our weekly activities provide opportunities to find new interests, learn new skills, discover our gifts, make friends and have fun!
